TONS of Naruko Skincare Samples: Speed Reviews

{All Naruko Skincare Samples were Provided for Review by Naruko USA}

If you’ve been following this blog for awhile, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of Naruko skincare. Their favorite products are the night jellies that they offer, but they also have various lines of skincare for different skin types, issues and concerns and I was lucky this past winter/ spring season to be able to test out a few of them for a few months.

Here’s a look at everything I received for review. Naruko has been super generous to me and I couldn’t be more grateful to have the opportunity to try more of their products because they are a brand that I would purchase from no matter what. If you’re unfamiliar with this brand, Naruko is a Taiwanese beauty brand that mainly offer a variety of skincare products for all your skin concerns including acne, dry skin, discoloration or pigmentation, and more. The brand is known for selling products that are naturally effective and include a variety of all natural ingredients combined with some scientific research to ensure the best results for your skin.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Cream

The first item I tested out was their Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Cream. It comes in an air tight plastic container which dispenses the perfect amount of cream out of a hole in it’s center when you press down on the top. It’s really sanitary and effective way to keep your cream clean as well as keep it from oxidation which will make ingredients less effective over time so I really like the packaging for it’s practical function. Aside from the packaging, this is a great cream for those with dry skin or combination skin who are dry in the winter or spring seasons. I got really super dry skin this past winter and this was a really nice cream to keep my skin from dehydration.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask

I absolutely love sheet masks! They are super easy to use, effective and very mess-free. They come in rectangle envelopes with face shaped cotton masks that are pre-soaked in the mask ingredients so you literally just pull them out, place them on your face and relax for 10-15. A lot of them don’t even need to be rinsed off, though you can if you’d prefer to. This one is super hydrating and softening.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Foaming Wash

This face wash was hit and miss for me. On the one hand, I really enjoyed the gratifying peeling that happened when I used it. It basically lathers up really nicely and when you massage it onto your skin, it starts to peel the dead skin off your face to reveal brighter skin beneath and you can literally see the skin coming off in little pieces. It’s not painful and there’s very little to no abrasion going on so it’s done more chemically than anything. It doesn’t feel like a face scrub much at all so, if you’re not into scrubs, this doesn’t feel like that. Instead, it just massages dead skin off your face and reveals new skin after. I really liked the peeling bit of this face wash, but as for treating dryness, it was not nearly as much hydration as I wanted and needed in a winter cleanser. I actually think face balms work much better for me than this, which I found to be brightening, but still a bit drying. It may work better for others, but for me, it didn’t hydrate enough. This might be great for those who battle oily skin, but also have dryness.

Tea Tree Oil Out Peeling Gel

This is another peeling type product that’s super fun to use. It does feel more like a scrub as it has tiny little beads in the formula, but they aren’t rough at all to use. To use this, you apply a small amount to skin and massage it around your face gently (avoiding eye area) for a minute or so. You will see small pieces of skin come off in the same way as the face wash and you need to rinse after using this to get all the little pieces completely off. I liked this better than the face wash, but it still didn’t hydrate my skin enough. I really just enough the scent of the Naruko tea tree products, to be honest. This is a great one for acne prone skin types.

Rose & Snow Fungus Classic Hydrating Night Eye Gelly

This hydrating night eye jelly is perfect for under the eyes. It’s super thick and goopy feeling, but it will soak in completely within an hour so that does go away eventually. It really does hydrate the eye area and protect it nicely. It didn’t cause breakouts on my skin at all so that’s a great bonus for those who have dry under eyes, but experience eye sensitivity and acne, because it’s very hydrating without being heavy or causing irritation.

Rose & Snow Fungus Classic Hydrating Night Gelly

Although this hasn’t taken the place of my favorite night jelly, it’s still a really lovely Night Jelly and it’s especially beneficial for dry skin types or those currently experiencing dryness. It has a really lovely, yet subtle rose scent and feels hydrating, but light on the skin.

AMPM Super Triple HA Skin Hydrator Seru

AMPM Super Triple HA Skin Hydrator

This very hydrating, yet light serum has a high concentration of B vitamins and hyaluronic acid to help hydrate, plump, and soothe skin. I really like how light this serum is, despite the fact that it’s very moisturizing. I think this is perfect for combination and oily skin types who have trouble finding serums that both hydrate the skin and are not super heavy. This is a great one for those who have trouble with heavier moisturizers, but still want a hydrating serum to use.

Facial White Illuminating Cotton Pads

The last item I received is this box of texturized cotton pads that are unique to Naruko. They are dual sided with one side being very smooth and one side being cross-hatched for gently buffing the skin. These are fantastic to use with facial toners or to remove makeup because the cross-hatched side really buffs the skin clean and gently exfoliates while the smooth side polishes and smooths the surface. I really saw a huge difference in my skin with using these alongside a toner and I definitely think they’re worth the little extra cost.

Overall, these products from Naruko, unsurprisingly, were really awesome. They all work really well at hydrating the skin and putting some life into otherwise dry skin cells. I definitely had an issue with dryness this past season and these products all helped a lot. I don’t think there was anything I really loved out of this bunch, but they’re all pretty solid as good skincare choices in my book. I don’t think I’d use them in the Summer time really as my skin can’t really handle it and prefers oils to lotions. I know that sounds weird and backward, but that’s how my skin is. If I had to pick favorites, I would choose the Night Eye Jelly, the Tea Tree Peeling Gel and the Cotton Pads, but these are all worth a look if hydration is what you need so definitely give them a look!

Max Green Alchemy Skin Rescue Blooming Bath Oil
Dry winter skin can really suck, especially when it’s coupled with irritation, redness, and flakiness, which is most of the time if not all. To keep my skin looking plump, hydrated and calm, I’ve taken to drawing up warm baths a few times a week and using this incredibly soothing bath oil by Max Green Alchemy – the Skin Rescue Blooming Bath Oil.

I’ve written a bit about Max Green Alchemy as I really love many, if not all, of their products. They are brilliant and made with organic, cruelty free, and wild crafted plant ingredients which seek to heal the skin from inside out and pretty much succeed in that effort, if you ask me. So, after reviewing this bath oil for about a month, it’s not really a surprise that I’d love this one too!

The scent of this bath oil is AMAZING and it really does soothe irritated and/or dry skin. The scent of it is exactly the same as their Skin Rescue Cream which I reviewed awhile back ( you can see that review – here ) and works just as well at calming skin inflammation as the cream, except without the added hydration you get from the cream. I get extremely dry skin come winter time and that dryness can easily turn into irritated, chapped skin which is not just horrible to look at, it can also be painful. This bath oil has helped me avoid that situation altogether and I am SO thankful!

Aside from being extremely effective at calming and hydrating skin, this bath oil is seriously relaxing. It smells incredible and the oil itself actually dissolves into the water rather than sitting on top of it like most oils do so it really envelops your skin in a cocoon of hydrating oil-infused bath water.

Lastly, one of my favorite things about this product ( and Max Green Alchemy products, in general ) is that fact that not only is this product effective, luxurious, and pleasant to use, but it also has an excellent ethical foundation to stand on. The ingredients are great, natural, cruelty free and the formulation leaves out typical nasties which can cause environmental or bodily harm so it’s really a product I can stand behind and I love that.

More Reasons to Love this Skin Rescue Blooming Bath Oil:

•” Pure organic botanic and essential oils calm, soothe and moisturize skin
• Supports the treatment of psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema
• Unique formula blends with bath water to infuse into skin
• Won’t leave nasty oil residue on the tub
• Steroid-free, paraben-free, petrochemical-free, GMO-free, lanolin-free, polysorbate-free, cruelty-free
• Enchanting non-medicinal aroma of organic chamomile and neroli
• Contains many certified organic ingredients
• 100% plant origin”

Natural Beauty and Balance with Simply Divine Botanicals!

Simply Divine Botanicals is a lovely skincare company that handcrafts chemical free products with your mind, body and soul encompassed in each of them. Made with what Master herbalist and healer, SDB Founder Barbara Rogers, calls complete and unconditional love and gratitude as well as all natural ingredients. I was recently sent a massive and incredibly generous amount of samples from the lovely Simply Divine Botanicals, so much so that I cannot really review them all at once, though I am likely to review more in the future as I go through them. That being said, here are a few of my favorite so far!

Feet Treat Foot and Leg Cream – A Stimulating Experience! – This one I only received a small sample of, but it really helps to take the stress out of my feet! I am on my feet a lot of the time and there’s a lot of pressure in them by the end of the day so this truly relaxes and takes the pressure off of them. It has a semi-medicinal smell to it and feels very balmy and  nourishing. I like to massage it in a bit and it really feels hydrating to my heels and relaxing to my muscles and mind!

You’re My Everything! Beautify – Detoxify – Energize – Nourish – This is an all natural supplement made with all natural greens, activated Barley, Spirulina blue green algae, Cayenne pepper and MSM meant to give you more energy, vitality, beauty and health. I have experienced more energy throughout the day using this than any other supplement! The only thing is that it literally smells like hamster food and has that green sea taste. It’s masked a bit when you mixed it with a bit of juice or in a smoothie, but honestly, I down it like a shot to avoid tasting it because the results are totally worth it to me!

Keeping Abreast Of It! Lymphatic Drainage and Circulatory Breast Cream – This cream is very hydrating and nourishing, but the real benefits come when it’s that time of the month! I don’t know the mysteries behind this one, but it really helps with soreness in the breast tissue. Also, if I’m feeling sore in the breast area even from working out, this seems to really help. It also seems to help with neck soreness as well!

Crystal Ally Body and Foot Spray Deodorant – I want to make a point of saying that this spray is not an antipersperant. It will not stop you from sweating like a conventional drugstore deodorant. What it does do is utilizes zinc and silver to neutralize body odor, which it does very well! I was still sweaty when I used this on an extremely hot day, but I smelled like pleasant citrus instead of B.O. which is fine with me! This is a really pleasant and super light spray that I have been keeping in my bag for super hot days when I know I can’t really stop the sweat, but I can control the odor. Yeah, it’s gross, but hey, this helps, even in 100+ F heat!

You Glow Girl! Glitter Butter – This is a really softening body butter that includes glitter in the formula to give you a nice shimmer perfect for Summer days. It really looks nice; it’s not too over the top in appearance and the formula includes hydrating oils, butters and essential oils for a moisturizing butter that offers a simple natural fragrance and perfectly toned, shimmery skin.

How Now Brown Cacao Body Butter – This body butter is seriously lovely! It smells delicious, literally want to eat it, because it smells just like chocolate. Do NOT eat this even though you’ll want to when you smell it! It is incredibly softening, hydrating and absorbs really well into the skin. Also, the chocolate smell is apparent when you’re applying, but once dry, someone will only be able to smell it if they’re right up in your personal space.

Gypsy Rose Tea Toner – This is a lovely tea toner that I have been spraying on my face any chance I can get throughout the hot weekdays. It doesn’t have an extremely strong smell, but the hint of apple cider vinegar is definitely apparent. It goes away once dry, though. I found this toner is great for calming redness and helping keep oily skin free from bacteria.

Pack Your Bags, They’re Leaving! Eye Gel – This eye gel is so hydrating and cooling! It includes cucumber and vitamin E to help moisturize and de-puff your under eyes. It definitely works well for me on mornings when I’ve gotten less than the desirable amount of beauty sleep!

Plump Up the Volume! Facial Mist – This mist utilizes the powers of seaweed to hydrate and plump the skin throughout the day. It really seems to work because I notice when I use this my skin looks firmer, more supple and soft than usual.

Face the Day! Firming C-Weed Serum – This serum has a large amount of seaweed in it to help your skin hold moisture, firm the skin and prevent and treat UV damage while also aiding your skin in becoming more tolerant of the sun. I love using this in the morning along with my sunscreen! It has a great texture, a pleasant citrus-y scent and does actually feel very hydrating and firming.

Honey I Shrunk the Pores! Biologically Active Skin Polish and Face Mask – This awesome face scrub and mask combo works really wells to gently slough off dead skin cells, fend off bacterial and free radicals, and also brighten and even out the skin’s tone by harnessing the power of fruit enzymes. It smells a lot like berries and honey, but spreads great and it works well as both a scrub and mask. It helped clear up a few breakouts in about 3 days, but it instantly made my skin look clearer and more radiant!

Naruko Beauty Supplements!

More Naruko goodness!

If you’ve been following for awhile, you’ll have heard all about my love for Naruko Skincare. Otherwise, you can see an overview of the brand here and some reviews on their products here and here!

So yesterday, and you’ll know already if you’re following me on Instagram, I was at an actual Naruko Boutique in Rowland Heights, California, picking up night jellies and I stumbled across these skin supplement drinks they’ve come out with!  One is meant to be taken during the day while the other is meant to be taken at night before bed.

Of course I had to try them!

They are both skin supplement drinks that focus on repairing the skin and encouraging collagen production, but the daytime version focuses on brightening the skin while the nighttime version works to firm the skin while you catch some beauty sleep.  The day one is the Berry Brightening Collagen Drink – Day and the night one is the Lychee Firming Collagen Drink – Night.

I tried the night one last night because, like an overexcited 5 year old, I just couldn’t wait and then I tried the day one this morning.

Firstly, I have to say that the sales rep completely lied on these or she has heinously bad taste. When I asked her what they taste like, she just told me they taste great. Mind you, I’d try them anyway with hopes of boosting collagen, glow and firming my skin up, but these taste like crap. I mean, it may just be personal preference because these remind me of what energy drinks taste like except much more potent and I hate the taste of energy drinks. The taste makes me feel like I’m drinking healthy gasoline because the taste seriously smacks you in the face. It is NOT subtle!

That being said, I think I may invest in a few of these.

I know, I sound kind of like a masochist given I’ve just compared the taste to drinking gasoline, but the vitamins in these are beneficial to skin health and overall bodily health actually.

The day version includes a variety of vitamins, minerals, fruit extracts and brightening plant extracts while the night version includes a similar variety of vitamins, minerals, and berries along with CoQ10 and other plant extracts known to firm and tone the skin.

No real effects seem to be showing up just yet as I’ve only tried them in the past 24 hours, but I do sense a glow in my skin, though that may be due to the 100+ F degree weather we’ve been suffering through here in Cali.

All in all, I still think I’ll try these again as I’m a fan of natural supplements, especially where vanity and skin health is concerned (yeah, I’m shallow like that, problem?). Plus, in the end, I think I’m just like most everyone else when it comes to these miracle drinks – easily pulled in by the promise of eternal youth in a bottle. Then again, maybe I’m alone in this, but at $5 a bottle, it’s not hugely expensive to try a week’s supply and see if I feel, or look, any different. That being said, I think these must be very new because I cannot find them on the Naruko USA website. They only seem to be available in Asia at the moment so I don’t know how they were available at the Naruko Boutique, but if you’d like to try them, you can find a pack of this day + night supplement combo here!

What do you think of beauty supplements?

Are they too gimmicky or have you seen any effects from taking supplements like this?

June Beauty Favorites!

I can’t believe July is already here!

June went by so incredibly fast and I have been so busy that I haven’t even had time to blink and notice that we are already knee deep in Summer weather!

I apologize for the delay on this; I wanted to get some of these reviews out before I posted my favorites so you all would be able to go and have a look if it any pique your interest so without further delay, here’s my favorites for June!

CARGO HydraBronze Powder

This bronzer has been amazing to use! I absolutely love it for contouring my cheek bones and it works great for a light bronze that doesn’t look too dark. I also love that they’ve included hyaluronic acid in the formula because it’s never drying to my skin; it just looks super soft and amazing!

Antonia Burrell Natural Glow Cleansing Oil

I’ve truly loved this Natural Glow Cleansing Oil by Antonia Burrell because it feels amazing, smells great and is really hydrating. It was perfect to alternate using this with the Alpha-H Triple Action Cleanser (read the full Alpha-H Reviews – here! ) because some days, my skin needed a more hydrating cleanser and this was just the thing! It features a host of awesome ingredients and feels great to use in a deep cleansing facial massage without being drying. Definitely worth a try for any skin type!

I Profumi di Firenze in Pleniluno Fragrance

I have been wearing this scent all month long! It smells amazing and is nice and light; perfect for the summer time! I am not a fan of fruity scents, but this has the perfect balance of fruitiness and musk so it just WORKS! It smells completely intoxicating and I will definitely buy the full size when I run out the of the small sample.

Alpha-H Gentle Balancing Moisturizer with 10% Glycolic Acid

This stuff is seriously one of my new holy grail products! It has been amazing at clearing up any breakouts that I have and brightening up my skin so that it doesn’t look dull and lifeless. It is a bit intense to use and may not be suitable for very sensitive types, but it is amazing for acne prone skin types and it may also be awesome for those experiencing dullness, hyper-pigmentation or dryness frequently. It has a slight tingling sensation due to the high content of glycolic acid so it should be used once every other night or even only a few times a week to get the effects, but it really does the trick!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Tinted Moisturizer in Adansonia

This tinted moisturizer has a lot more coverage than your average tinted moisturizer and I really like the soft finish! It blends nicely and looks natural and fits easily into my makeup bag with it’s thin design! I’ve been using it on regular work days when I want a bit more than a simple powder!

Suti Skincare’s Organic Purity Moisturising Balm

This balm has been amazing at calming my skin when it freaks out for no reason! I’ve loved using it, especially at to help heal breakouts, calm redness and hydrate any dryness I experience. I totally recommend this to anyone with easily irritated skin!

Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

I received this eyeliner in my June Birchbox Review and I’ve pretty much been using it ever since! The felt tip on this is so easy to use and create thick or thin lines on my eyes. Plus, I love the change of pace with this deep purple color when I feel like black would be too harsh. It’s been a nice change for summer!

ECO Tools Bath & Shower Gloves

I mentioned these awhile back in my Target Beauty Haul post. I am so glad that I purchased these! They are amazing to use in the shower with any soap or body wash because they help massage the ingredients into your skin while at the same time gently exfoliating so when you’re done, your skin is SO SOFT! My skin is always so incredibly soft when I step out of the shower now and it’s given my skin a nice glow which is awesome for the summertime! Plus, they were so cheap at $2.99 USD so you can’t beat that!

That’s all my June beauty faves! I hope you enjoyed!

What are your beauty favorites for June?

Blûm Naturals Daily Cleansing and Makeup Remover Face Towelettes

I was recently sent these awesome facial towelettes from Blûm Naturals for review and I absolutely love them! Previously, I was such a huge fan of the Yes to Cucumbers Face Wipes, but now I think I am converting over to these! They are really convenient, have an awesome natural ingredient list that is all plant derived and they are nearly the same price as the ones from Yes to Cucumbers and just as refreshing!

Blûm Naturals Tea Tree Daily Cleansing & Make up Remover Towelettes for Combination to Oily Skin

I really enjoyed these tea tree towelettes because they help refresh my skin when it’s hot out, but the tea tree in them is a great antibacterial ingredient for me in the summer when I’m most likely to be breaking out a lot due to the heat.

A lot of people online seem to be crediting this with helping to clear acne up. Although I don’t have enough breakouts at the moment to attest to that, I do know that the ingredients in this have been shown to be effective against acne. If nothing else, these really helps to mattify my skin and control oiliness when it gets super hot. It is also great for taking along in your bag when you’re at an amusement park on a hot day, I’ve found!

Blûm Naturals Chamomile Daily Cleansing & Make up Remover Towelettes for Dry & Sensitive Skin

These towelettes are a bit less medicinal smelling than the tea tree ones and more relaxing and calming than anything. I really liked treating redness with these! They are just as refreshing as the tea tree, but they seem a lot more calming and mild. I definitely enjoyed them as well, but I found that my sister who has dry skin had more of a use for them than I did so I passed them along like the good sister that I am, of course! 😉

All in all, I enjoyed these facial towelettes a lot. I find that these are especially useful in the summertime as a refreshing pick me up or even to take on short overnight trips when I don’t feel like bringing everything but the kitchen sink with me. I definitely recommend these because they are so affordable and feature an awesome list of natural ingredients tailored to your skin type.
