Max Green Alchemy Skin Rescue Blooming Bath Oil
Dry winter skin can really suck, especially when it’s coupled with irritation, redness, and flakiness, which is most of the time if not all. To keep my skin looking plump, hydrated and calm, I’ve taken to drawing up warm baths a few times a week and using this incredibly soothing bath oil by Max Green Alchemy – the Skin Rescue Blooming Bath Oil.

I’ve written a bit about Max Green Alchemy as I really love many, if not all, of their products. They are brilliant and made with organic, cruelty free, and wild crafted plant ingredients which seek to heal the skin from inside out and pretty much succeed in that effort, if you ask me. So, after reviewing this bath oil for about a month, it’s not really a surprise that I’d love this one too!

The scent of this bath oil is AMAZING and it really does soothe irritated and/or dry skin. The scent of it is exactly the same as their Skin Rescue Cream which I reviewed awhile back ( you can see that review – here ) and works just as well at calming skin inflammation as the cream, except without the added hydration you get from the cream. I get extremely dry skin come winter time and that dryness can easily turn into irritated, chapped skin which is not just horrible to look at, it can also be painful. This bath oil has helped me avoid that situation altogether and I am SO thankful!

Aside from being extremely effective at calming and hydrating skin, this bath oil is seriously relaxing. It smells incredible and the oil itself actually dissolves into the water rather than sitting on top of it like most oils do so it really envelops your skin in a cocoon of hydrating oil-infused bath water.

Lastly, one of my favorite things about this product ( and Max Green Alchemy products, in general ) is that fact that not only is this product effective, luxurious, and pleasant to use, but it also has an excellent ethical foundation to stand on. The ingredients are great, natural, cruelty free and the formulation leaves out typical nasties which can cause environmental or bodily harm so it’s really a product I can stand behind and I love that.

More Reasons to Love this Skin Rescue Blooming Bath Oil:

•” Pure organic botanic and essential oils calm, soothe and moisturize skin
• Supports the treatment of psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema
• Unique formula blends with bath water to infuse into skin
• Won’t leave nasty oil residue on the tub
• Steroid-free, paraben-free, petrochemical-free, GMO-free, lanolin-free, polysorbate-free, cruelty-free
• Enchanting non-medicinal aroma of organic chamomile and neroli
• Contains many certified organic ingredients
• 100% plant origin”

novemberfaves2012

As I’ve been so busy preparing all the giveaway posts for my 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways Event, I just have not had the time to do all the reviews, makeup looks and other normal beauty posts I’d normally be doing about now so sorry for the lateness on this favorites post and the lack of a typical collage that I’d normally do. This is just real quick and then it’s back to the grind as I’ve got to prepare for tomorrow’s flash giveaway. If you haven’t done so already, definitely hurry and sign up for the 2 giveaways that are open as the first closes in 12 hours or so and the second closes in less than 48 hours!

And onto my November Favorites!

{Click the Links to Read My Reviews!}

  • Alpha-H Liquid Smoothing & Perfecting Face Mask.  This one has been a real life saver! My skin has been all over the place since the weather started to change and this mask has kept breakouts in check and helped smooth out patchiness, brighten dullness and just wake my skin up. It’s a great pick-me-up mask and it has the great tingling effects with the results to back it up! Highly recommend this one!
  • Living Nature Foundation. I’ve really been loving this foundation as it has a lot of healing ingredients in the formula including harakeke flax gel and manuka which are said to heal, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin and I really can attest to these effects! Although the coverage is not full, it has a general light to medium that’s buildable and really seems to even out the skin without covering it up. I love that it lets my skin breath and doesn’t break me out. Plus, it’s nicely hydrating and looks even more polished when used with the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer.
  • Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener. This primer is so great! Although I covet my Korres primer because it is silicone free and I’ve had something of a phobia when it comes to silicone primers given how often they seem to make me breakout, I really love this one and it does not make me break out so that is fantastic! Instead, it gives that fantastic poreless finish we all associate with silicone primers with none of the typical irritation associated with them. Normally, in the past I’ve felt like, well I’d like the poreless look today so let me use this crap primer and pray my skin doesn’t react in the five hours I’m wearing it and I’d usually break out. But with this primer, I don’t have to worry because I never break out! It makes my skin look great and gives the natural foundations ( like the Living Nature or Jane Iredale ones) a fuller coverage that still looks natural, though a bit more finished.
  • The Leakey Collection Marula Oil. This has been such a great oil for hydrating my skin! I love that it’s just pure marula oil and that it’s a product I can really stand behind in terms of ethics and things. The oil itself feels so silky and yet it absorbs almost instantly into the skin and no residue. This is something I would absolutely repurchase though I’d need to save up a bit as it’s a little bit of a splurge!
  • Suti Skincare Cleanse Organic Balm. Last on the list, but nonetheless amazing! If you follow then you’ll have somewhat of an idea of the extent of my little obsession with Suti products. They just have such greatly formulated products and these products actually work! Some natural products are all natural and then their formulas suck despite their fantastic ingredient list, but these are so effective! I love this cleanse balm for any time, all the time. It just seems to really straighten my skin out when it’s going haywire for no reason and that’s whether it’s summer, winter, whatever. This. Just. Works. Try it. It’s amazing and it will nourish and smooth your skin in a beautiful way.

So, that’s it for my November favorites!

What are you loving this winter season to keep your skin in great shape or get the perfect fall makeup look?

What’s on your gift list this year?

This year seems to be a year of budgeting for me. I’m saving up to move and also trying to pay off credit balances so I’ve been making most gifts, but there are still people I’d like to get small gifts, even if they’re just cute stocking stuffer type items and that’s where this list comes in! I love buying beauty items for close girl friends and relatives and some of these are great picks, though the price won’t break the bank and that’s my kind of gift! I hope this list helps facilitate your gift list a bit and help you stress less. After all, the holidays is about enjoying your time, NOT going broke. And, if you really want to gift on the cheap, check out my list of DIY gifts – here.

Here’s My List for Top 10 Beauty Stocking Stuffers Under $10 – Enjoy!

Love & Toast Perfume Minis; $9

I really love perfume minis and these are so cute and unique, while still looking really chic and stylish. I hate having a huge perfume bottle clunk around in my purse so I always carry minis and I think they’d make a lovely gift. These are super affordable. You could dress it up as a full gift, if you like, by putting it into a small box (I’d use an old Birchbox or something) or even a wrapped aluminum foil box would work. You can add little $1 trinkets to flesh it out and then it’d be a fully fledged gift!

Too Faced – Hot Cocoa Collection; $10

When I saw this one, I immediately thought of Crystal from The Crystal Chronicles who had requested the Chocolate Bronzer from Too Faced as part of my Black Friday Beauty Giveaway ( Sign Up Here! ) so I may have to pick up this absolute steal on Black Friday for that! It has such great value for only $10!

23613-300.jpg

Illume – Balsam & Cedar Soy Candle; $9

I love aromatic type candles, especially the natural ones that smell lovely, relax me, rejuvenate me, etc. I love lighting them whilst doing my makeup or relaxing in the bath. They just really set the mood and although I know some people really hate getting soap and candles for gifts, I have to say, I really love it and this is a great price for an all natural candle!

Hello Kitty Perfume; $10

If you follow along, you’ll know I’m a bit obsessed with all things Hello Kitty and this is such a great gift for those, like me, who can’t get enough of the adorable kitty with no mouth! (Seriously, look at her. No mouth. It’s weird, I know.) Anyway, I’d been lusting after the Noir version of this perfume that comes with an atomizer ( *sigh* – my love for atomizer perfumes goes way back!) , but that one is hard to get hold of now and this one smells lovely as well! & travel size too!

Balm Balm – All Over Balm; $10

I think these are great gifts for anyone who is a fan of all natural remedies or aromatherapy! They even have one especially for moms (or mums or mams or whichever?) which I think is super cute. All moms deserve their own skincare. This one is a great all natural version for you, your babies and whoever is passing through ;-).

Nuxe – Rêve de Miel® Lip Moisturizing Stick; $9.50

I’m not sure if this is the same formula as the much raved about lip balm from Nuxe, but it does seem to be quite similar if not the same. The only real difference seems to be the stick form it’s in. also, this one is super affordable and portable (yep, rhyming now so you know shizz is getting serious!)!

Kat Von D Mini Lipstick Duo; $10

The holidays always make me think of red lipstick. Maybe it’s because my mom was always sporting it looking amazing around this time, but it just looks amazing on anyone and everyone and it speaks of holiday loveliness! I love this cute lip duo from Kat Von D (though I sort of find her as a person to be kind of tacky) – her line is pretty NARS wannabe, but I like the packaging and presentation nonetheless. It has that chic, polished look of NARS without the often inflated price tag.

Tarte Clean Slate Deluxe Primer Trio; $9

Again, this reminded me of something to look for on Black Friday for all the Tarte lovers! I’ve never personally tried the Tarte primers, but this seems like a great way to sample them and the set itself is quite nicely sized so it actually could serve as a full-on gift, in my opinion.

Konjac Sponge; $9

I raved about my experiences with the Original Konjac Sponge in this post  and I’ve been dying to try their other varieties ever since. I love that they are tailored to skin type and you can certainly personalize your gift with that in mind. Also, for those skin minimalists out there, this is perfect. It’s no hassle, no fuss, and it’s very eco and affordable for anyone trying to go natural and green.

Weekly Steal - SMOKEY EYES SET - Mineral Eyeshadow Mineral Makeup - Set of 2 - Pure & Natural Mineral Eye Pigments - Noella Beauty Works

Noella Beauty Works – Smokey Eyes Set; $8.49

I really love loose eye shadows. Ever since I was young, I just find them more fun, and I don’t know if it’s because I enjoy making a mess and getting powder all over the place or if it’s because I find them a lot easier to blend, but anyway. They’re really awesome and they last forever and ever since they don’t include any oils or water (pressed powders do and they go rancid after awhile – usually 1 yr or so). They are also more sanitary and less likely to hold onto bacteria like pressed powders. Anyway, I love this duo and there’s huge value with that price tag. The colors are fantastic for winter when everyone is going darker.

Philosophy Peppermint Bark Duo; $9

I love this little festive set from Philosophy! Their holiday beauty sets are really up there with the best of them, in my opinion. All of their holiday sets always look adorable and this one is super affordable, but still has the cute holiday theme to it.

Sephora by O.P.I. – Tinseltown 2 Piece Set; $10

I really like all the colors from the Sephora by O.P.I. Tinseltown collection – they look super festive, but really chic. Also, O.P.I. polishes are now DBP, toluene and formaldehyde free!

Soapwalla Bath Soaking Salts; $10

I normally associate bath kits and the like with being seriously over priced, especially the natural kind, but these bath soaking salts from Soapwalla are really affordable and cute. I love that they look like kind of like old milk bottles!

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Seasilk Shampoo & Conditioner Travel Duo; $10

This is a great one for those who are hair-obsessed. I’ve been wanting to try the Alterna Caviar line and this is super affordable. It’s a great gift for those who frequently travel and they look very high end, but they won’t cost you much!

The New Black – Glimmer Twins 2 Piece Nail Polish Set; $10

This is a great nail lacquer set for those nail art addicts! One of my really great friends is amazing with nails and, though I know she owns a lot of nail stuff already, I know she wouldn’t refuse more colors to add to her collection. These are really chic and they are the kind of colors that go well with many others as well as together. I think these are a great duo to implement on New Year’s!

Stila Mini Travel Palettes; $10

I love these travel palettes from Stila! They are super affordable and versatile; perfect for keeping in your purse or traveling with. I also like that they are travel-themed and it’s a great way to theme your mini gift, if you want to do so.

Fresh Prime & Glow; $10

I am always enamored with everything that Fresh comes out with. It always looks chic, natural and classy, but it’s usually expensive. That’s why I love buying mini sets like this – it saves me buckets of cash, but I still get to try stuff! This little primer kit is really cute and affordable – plus it’s great for transforming from day – to – night as one primer has a more bronzed pink look and the other a more ethereal silver glow.

Kniepp Herbal Bath Oils; $5.50

I’m considering picking up these bath oils just because 1. they’re really cheap and cute and 2. I can customize my baths to my mood. I don’t know why I want to customize my baths to my mood, but it is finally possible! I love herbal baths and these each seem to have a function – sleep, stress relief, etc. You could actually get someone 2 of these if you’re budget is around $10 and you could wrap them in a cute box ( again, I would use a re-purposed Birchbox, but that’s only because I’ve saved them like the hoarder that I am) as a cute mini gift.

So, that’s all for now – I hope this helps ease the stress of shopping, the cost of the holidays, and helps give you some creative ideas on how to give affordable gifts that still look really cute and personalized.

I’ve been browsing online like a fiend, which I think just comes with the territory when you get near holidays. Everyone wants to shop, right? Maybe it’s just me…

Anyway, so here are some things that really caught my eye and made it on my wish list for Christmas!

What’s On Your Christmas Wish List?

I’m sooo excited for Christmas!

I know, Thanksgiving isn’t even here yet, but I just get more jazzed about Christmas than Thanksgiving for some reason and it probably has a lot to do with all of the Christmas themed beauty sets they come out with around this time that get me into the spirit!

You know, and all the fireplace scent in cold air, candy canes, tea, and all that jazzy stuff too!

So, with that, here’s 20 of my favorite gift sets, collections, etc. that would make lovely gifts for someone this holiday season!

Today’s post focuses on all the amazing DIY pins I’ve discovered on Pinterest. There really are some awesome things to be discovered on Pinterest – definitely join if you haven’t already! It’s convinced me I can make everything despite a severe handicap (no, not really) when it comes to crafts. So, here are some of my favorites; I hope you enjoy!

Pinned Image

DIY Bracelet From animatedknots.com via Pinterest

I’m not much for crocheting or sewing or anything that requires a lot of patience (a virtue I was not gifted with) really, but I actually love this bracelet and plan on making one (or several) for myself! It seems pretty easy.

DIY Nail Polish Tutorial From beautylish.com via Pinterest

I’ve been wanting to try this one for ages and I really love this tutorial. Anyone tried this yet with their eye shadows? Any advice is appreciated!

Pinned Image

DIY Coconut Milk Shampoo From onegoodthingbyjillee.com via Pinterest

I really want to do this one as hair products can be pretty expensive, but I’m concerned about it being color safe. Again, if anyone has advice on this front!

DIY Re-Vamped Flats From makeit-loveit.com via Pinterest

I really love this tutorial for re-vamping flats as I’m someone who tends to scuff up perfectly good flats in a month’s time. Yeah, I’m shoe-abusive and I tend to get bored easily so this is a fun way to change with the trends without going broke.

Not sure if this actually works on nails, but I’ll try it soon and let you know!

never buy white strips again!: dip q-tip in hydrogen peroxide (the key ingredient in whitestrips) and apply to surface of teeth for 30 sec before brushing teeth) once a day for a few days. Teeth will look whiter in 2 days.

DIY Whiten Your Teeth via Pinterest

I haven’t tried this one yet, but I’m seriously going to pick up some hydrogen peroxide so I can test it out. Basically, you dip a Q-tip into some hydrogen peroxide and polish each tooth before brushing your teeth. Wait 30 minutes with the peroxide on your teeth before brushing regularly. People say there’s a huge difference when you do it for one week straight and it’s certainly cheaper and more eco than Crest white strips, right?

DIY Blackhead Treatment From stylebees.com via Pinterest

I haven’t tried this one yet, but I’m curious to see how it will work. May try this one tonight as I finally picked up some lemons. Anyone tried this yet?

DIY Eyelash Growth Treatment From fashionindie.com via Pinterest

I have seriously long lashes (Italians are hairy okay), but since I decided to get tweezer happy as a teen, my brows grow in bizarrely and don’t grow in at all in some places so I may try this one out on my brows.

DIY Nail Dots Pinned from Pinterest for iPhone via Pinterest

As I’ve said, I’m nail – inferior, but the idea of making dots on my nails sounds like fun. I’m like a kid banging on a piano – I can’t actually play the damn thing, but I can pretend.

At-Home Spa Treatments From lulus.com via Pinterest

I looove to do DIY facials in the winter for some reason. I don’t know if that’s because I’m in somewhat hibernation and leave my house less or what, but it’s fun and these are pretty easy to make. I’ve done all of these except the bath one and the anti-redness facial. Though, lately, I am getting a lot of redness (I’ve run out of my Suti Cleansing Balm & Moisturizer! 😦 ) due to the weather changes so I may try the anti-redness one soon.

Map Nails via Pinterest [Not sure of source – if someone knows, please let me know so I can update this!] – You can get a tutorial for this here though > http://polishpedia.com/map-nails.html

This seems like a fun alternative to painting my nails and it looks cool too!

DIY Sock Bun From beautylish.com via Pinterest

I’m trying this one tonight as I haven’t had the heart to mutilate any of my socks until now, but this one seems too good to pass up and certainly more gentle than constantly putting my hair in a bun the normal way. Maybe.

Romantic French Braid Tutorial From abeautifulmess.typepad.com via Pinterest

I may try this come Thanksgiving. I really love the look! It’s so simple, but very romantic and it’s cold out and about that time when I get super sentimental and pull out my Pride & Prejudice and start quoting about “how ardently I admire and love you..” and my boyfriend looks at me like, WTH did you just say? with his eyebrow raised. Yes, it happens.

ANYWAY!

Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend so far ❤

Silent Hill Film Image from Kotaku.Com

I’ve seen a ton of scary movies. Actually, I just saw Silent Hill 2 on Monday. (It’s good, if you’re wondering!) Ever since I was young, my sister and I would go to the movies and watch all the horror films at the theater. Now, my boyfriend and I watch them together, especially since we’re both pretty obsessed with zombies. Though, that’s another matter because we end up watching really bad horror films and today’s post is some of the scariest films I’ve ever seen, ever. These are films that scared the living daylights out of me so I hope you watch some and enjoy the terror as well!

  1. R-Point. This film was surprising in it’s scary factor. My boyfriend convinced me to watch it and I thought it would be boring, but it’s actually really freaky! It’s a Korean film so be prepared to read subtitles. Soldiers receive a radio transmission from a team that says they’ve been missing and need help. Strange things begin to happen when they arrive at R-Point. I don’t want to give away too much!
  2. Audition. This one is such a WTF kind of movie; it’s that twisted. It centers on a widowed man holding fake auditions in order to find a new girlfriend. He believes he’s found her until a bag in her apartment moves. So totally creepy in true Takashi Miike style, this one will freak you out all the way through to the end. Actually, anything he’s done will freak you out. They’re all twisted as hell.
  3. Pan’s Labyrinth. This movie isn’t necessarily terrifying in the straightforward sort of way. It more or less plays on your childhood fears. This adult fairy tale shows it’s fairy tale characters as being menacing and scary and it’s little girl Heroine living in 1940’s fascist Spain. Definitely a great film whether you’re scared or not.
  4. Hostel. So, when I first watched this film in theaters, I had no idea what it was about. It has a similar feel to Audition in that, you really feel like it’s going to be a chill movie in the first 30 minutes of it. Actually, we thought we were in the wrong theater at first. Then, the horror sets in. This movie is so effed up I got a charlie horse (muscle cramp) in the theater because of how tense I was LOL.
  5. Paranormal Activity. This film is particularly frightening to me because I used to live in a house that looks just like the house they filmed in. A lot of the terror comes from what you don’t see in this film. There’s some strange happenings in their home that the couple begin to film and then they realize it’s not their house that’s haunted. All 3 of these films are scary, but the 3rd one has a really stupid ending (my opinion).
  6. The Ring. Whether you watch the original Ring-u version or the remade American version, they’re both terrifying. A string of deaths happen after all victims have watched the same video.
  7. The Omen. There’s something really creepy about little kids turning evil. I’m just saying. So, to sum this one up, little boy is the anti-christ.
  8. Silent Hill. And to continue what I was saying, little children are scary as hell. Based on the equally scary video game, one woman goes searching for her missing daughter in a ghost town called Silent Hill.
  9. Nightmare on Elm St. When a lynch mob killed Freddie, they never expected him to come back to haunt all of their children’s dreams. Don’t fall asleep!
  10. Saw. A sick twisted killer chains his victims and forces them to do, literally, whatever it takes to survive. They’re usually always people who have done bad things in their life. They’re all really good, but the original is scariest.
  11. Nosferatu. This is an old film from the 1920’s. It’s basically like Dracula, but much creepier because 1. it’s in black and white and 2. there’s no dialogue, just music. I don’t know exactly why it creeps me out, but just watch it and you’ll understand. It may be hard to find, but check your local library or online.
  12. Carrie. This movie terrified me as a child. Based on a novel by Stephen King (just in case you were doubting how effed up it would be), it tells the story of shy Carrie who is bullied and ridiculed by her classmates. She starts her period (yep, going there) and combined with her lack of understanding and religious devotion, the bullying worse of her classmates worsens until Carrie’s had enough.
  13. Jeeper’s Creepers. This is really similar to a lot of films that came out around the same time (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Amityville Horror, and Halloween), but this one stands out to me, not for it’s story or anything, but the damn music! Seriously, the music is so creepy. Don’t believe me ? Just YouTube the song Jeepers Creepers. It’s so freaking cringe-worthy!

So, I feel like now’s a great time to say this – What’s your favorite scary movie?

Enjoy Halloween!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

So, as you all know, I write a lot about products that I love. I really do. If I don’t much like a product, I don’t really end up writing about it unless it’s just that awful to the point where I feel obligated to. Otherwise, it just ends up underneath my sink, unused and forever alone or I return it if I can. That being said, I’ve tried sooo many products. A few have been great, a lot have been just okay, and some have been downright horrible. Since I have never really shared too much about the products that I loathe or done a whole lot of negative reviewing, I thought it was high time I wrote a bit about some products that, not only I didn’t like, but that also had huge hype in the beauty world and never lived up to those expectations in my opinion. So, here they are.

Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate

Back before I knew anything about, well anything, I used to purchase my cosmetics at either the mall or the drugstore. I thought, well it’s a brand, it’s expensive, it should work right? If you’re as much into beauty as I now am, you’ll know this simply isn’t true and when you shell out the cash for something as expensive as Lancome, the cries of utter disappointment can be heard around the world. Twice. So when I tried this serum, of course I believed everything the makeup counter lady told me about hydration, fine line smoothing, blah blah. The only problem? It sucks. It’s a silicone-esque type moisturizer that doesn’t really do much of anything. It mildly hydrates, at best. Not only that, but it ended up making me break out in the 4th day using it. Thank God for Macy’s return policy.

Kanebo Kate Gel Eyeliner in BK1

I picked this one up in a little beauty boutique near me, thinking to myself Oooh it’s like calligraphy makeup! Yeah, I’m not sure what that was about, but it was around the time Memoirs of a Geisha (the book, not the movie) came out and I was all into the art of applying makeup like I’m freaking Monét or something. Also, it had gotten rave reviews on all the blogs I followed (back in the days before I blogged anything). Anyway, so this eyeliner worked okay for the first day, you know, if I applied like 4 layers of it. After that, it stopped wanting to layer over and if I tried, it would basically wipe all the layers out that I already applied on. Apply eyeliner on, wipes off. Aside from that, it would dry up once applied and then flake off in a seriously unattractive way. Gross. No thanks, I’ll pass. I threw it away.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

I wanted so much to like this one! It gets rave reviews to this day and I still don’t get it! It was actually purchased for me by my boyfriend’s mom who loves Clinique like it’s going out of style. I was super excited to try this out and it does go on really nicely. It feels like a really hydrating, but surprisingly light face lotion. It was only after a few days that I noticed I was getting a bunch of ugly white heads popping up in my T-zone. Eww. And back to Macy’s I went.

Loreal Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover

Wow, I tried this one some time in middle school before I knew anything about makeup or how to apply it. You know, back when I thought it was a good idea to apply stick foundation in that orange color that had no semblance to my actual skin color. Those days. So, it’s actually not surprising that I bought this purely because it’s Loreal and I saw all those fancy shmancy (it IS a word in my world!) commercials for it with models and splashing water. It looked legit, right ? I could not have been more wrong about this one. This sh*t actually burns going on. It burns your eyes, your skin. I seriously hope they’ve re-done the formula since I used it back in 2000 because this stuff is hazardous.

Olay Professional Pro X Advanced Cleansing System Set

This is one of the more recent errs in judgment I had. I purchased it because I was still too cheap to take the plunge and splurge on an actual Clarisonic and this seemed like a nice, affordable option. At this point, I’d already tried the cheap $10 electronic face brushes from Ebay (Thanks China, you rock!) and I thought this would be a more refined option, but this thing is worse than the $10 one. Seriously, all it does is spin in a circle on either high or low. It also runs on batteries which run out pretty frequently so it’s not green or economical, really, at all. The brush attachment isn’t really that soft and actually causes redness after continued use. The cleanser that comes with this sucks too. I would’ve been better off putting my $30 ish dollars away to save up for the Clarisonic than purchasing this piece of crap. Just saying. Anyway, thank God I now own a Clarisonic. I’m definitely never looking back.

Loreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara

really wanted to love this mascara! I don’t know if my lack of skill makes this mascara total crap to me or if it just sucks overall, but it sure was disappointing. The round wand sounds like a fantastic idea when you see it on commercial, but in reality, it’s a smudge death trap because you inevitably end up getting mascara all over your eyes and lids with this thing. The formula seemed to be okay, but the wand is just too annoying to use and it clumps up mascara after the second layer. What a mess.

Dr. Jart+ Silver Label Rejuvenation BB Cream

So, this last one was the first ever BB cream that I tried back in 2009. I purchased it at a little Asian beauty boutique in Rowland because it was reviewed on a lot of blogs as a great BB cream to try for those who have trouble, oily and acne prone skin. Within 2 days of using this, not only was my skin breaking out more than ever, but it was also inflamed, irritated, and it had a lovely greyish tint thanks to Dr. Jart+. I hope they’ve re-formulated this one since officially releasing it in the states and now being sold in Sephora because, if not, awful. It’s just bad.

Are there any products which had such big hype, but that ended up leaving you disappointed?

Image IS NOT MINE! Owned by ABC Studios

Okay, so I promise this will be my last post on this for at least a week or two. I know I’ve been obsessively posting on OUAT all week/end and I hope you’ve enjoyed it, at least a little bit!

Anyway, I am super excited for Season 2 of ABC’s Once Upon A Time (if you didn’t notice already!) and for my last post of the evening, I’d like to share some of my (and my boyfriend’s) predictions for this season. I hope you enjoy and definitely share your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to theory craft with you!

  1. Henry’s Father Is Baelfire. My boyfriend and I have been on this one for awhile now. It only makes sense. He actually came up with it while we were theory crafting after having watched Season 1 for the second time, but all signs point to this. First, Emma says Henry’s father isn’t a good guy. My theory is that Baelfire came through to our world from Fairy Tale Land with a chip on his shoulder, having been dealt the ultimate betrayal from his father, Rumpelstiltskin (Mr. Gold). I believe he’ll have grown up angry, alone, and jaded so it makes sense he would become an adult with a bitter resentment towards the world. At least, that’s my theory!
  2. The Queen of Hearts Is Regina’s Mother. This one is a bit far-fetched, but I feel it might have some ground because they purposely keep her face covered in the one Wonderland episode. Also, the whole keeping the hearts in boxes (for power, or you know, just because we’re creepy) idea that Regina also does may have come from her mother (if she is the QoH). If not, she’s definitely someone important otherwise they wouldn’t keep her face covered like that. Although, there are theories abound that she’s been beheaded herself and that’s why she’s covering it, but yeah, no idea and that would be awkward to see.
  3. Emma Has Special Powers. Okay, I know they’ve already pretty much said this, but I wanted to mention it because now that magic is in our world, it will come into play even more. Throughout Season 1 of OUAT Emma continually mentions she can tell when others are lying, but I feel like she has more powers than that. I think she may also have some sort of pure heartedness, despite her rough life, which may contribute to her ability to tell when others are lying or not. Also, I think she has more powers, but I don’t really know what they would be other than the aforementioned one.
  4. Daniel Is Still Alive .. Or Something. I know, I know, we saw him get his heart ripped out by Regina’s mother, Cora, but still. I just feel like something is missing from this story, whether they’re going to show that Cora knew about Regina and Daniel all along and reveal that to Regina in the present (since they’ve alluded she will come to Storybrooke in Season 2) or maybe Daniel is simply stuck in another world (or he was sent to ours). I have no idea. Maybe he really is dead, but I’m holding out for him being alive anyway so whateva!
  5. Jefferson / Mad Hatter’s Wife Is Alice. I think it would be awesome if Jefferson’s wife was Alice. Actually, he said she was dead, but then a lot of people keep saying their spouse or whatever is dead when they just left or something so I think it would be cool if she was either A. The QoH’s or B. Alice. Or maybe Alice became the Queen of Hearts. It’d be a nice twist. Either way, I feel like Jefferson’s daughter has a huge resemblance to what we all imagine Alice to look like, but that’s just me. I may be reaching on this one. Oh wellll.

I think I had a few more, but that’s all I can remember now I’m being put on the spot! I hope you enjoy this post and also if you’re tuning in tonight for the Season 2 premiere.

What do you think will happen in Season 2?
