Lust List: Beauty Beauty Beauty Beauty Rockin Everywhere!

It’s that time again for a Lust List, which is basically me admitting I have a problem, a big BIG problem with shopping.. or something. And yes, why yes, I did model my blog post title after a rap song, problem?

Okay, anyway so time to be SERIOUS. *Puts on game face*

Here’s some of the lovely beauty things catching my eye this week and I am perfectly okay admitting it’s not even half of all the crap I’ve ACTUALLY been eyeing, but just my favorites since I didn’t want to look like some kind of digital hoarder so there you have it.

Hope you enjoy!

Alpha-H Liquid Gold

I’ve been lusting after this one for ages and it’s a definite since I’ve tried and tested their other amazing products (see the Alpha-H reviews – here!), but it seems like everyone and their mom (yes, moms are even blogging away now!) have been reviewing it which only makes me want it more! I absolutely see this in my future..

Naruko Tea Tree Anti-Acne Sunscreen SPF 50

I tried this when I went to pick up night jellies at the Naruko Boutique in Rowland Heights. It must be a new product because I’d never seen it before, but I was really impressed with it nonetheless! I don’t really have much trouble with acne since using the Apple Seed and Tranexamic Acid and even less in combination with the Alpha-H products, but this is a nice tinted moisturizer + sunscreen combo anyway, even if you don’t have acne issues, in my opinion. It has a soft matte type finish without being drying, includes salicylic and tea tree in the formula, sunscreen and a nice tint to it so it’s basically everything I want in a tinted moisturizer for everyday light makeup! Definitely picking this one up soon!

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

I’ve been wanting this lip balm ever since I read about how much since Kate @ SleepingBootay raved about it in this post. After reading her awesome review, I’ve seriously been considering picking this one up; it just looks so creamy and nourishing!

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer

I’ve been considering this one because, for some reason, I’ve been obsessed with that “glow” look this Summer and this really seems like it would fit the bill! It has a nice spf 30, medium coverage and is said to help improve the condition of your skin over time while you wear it.

Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask (10pcs)

I got one of these for free when I was last shopping at the Naruko Boutique and I loved it! I normally shy away from masks that say they’re hydrating or moisturizing because I do have combination skin, but I find that a lot of the hydrating masks are lost on me. Either they have no effect at all or they break me out, but this one works magic to make my skin look really dewy and hydrated without looking shiny or oily. Plus, I fell asleep while it was on and my skin soaked everything up, leaving no residue behind.

Eyebrow Perfect Pro Powder

This little nifty applicator tapers to a point so you can apply eyebrow powder evenly. I really love this cute little thing. I use a brown eye shadow powder to fill in my brows at the moment, but carrying around a bulky makeup palette can be kind of a pain. This would be perfect to keep in my little makeup bag AND it only costs $7 USD!

Anna Sui Loose Makeup Face Powder

I don’t know if this powder is good or not, but I’m shallow so I fell in love with the adorable packaging! I’m a huge fan of the old fashioned and this is super cute. I probably wouldn’t use it consistently, but I just want to put it on my shelf and look at it haha.

Kissing Elixirs in Mint Vanilla 100% Natural Fresh Breath Mist

Natural fresh breath mist, this is perfect to keep in my makeup bag and it’s really adorable packaging! Plus, the ingredients are 100% natural and cavity defensive.

Celestial White Moss Shower Mousse

Seeing this one made me realize I’ve never tried any of the Naruko body products and why not?! I know, I’m bordering on obsessive with my love for Naruko products, but they are seriously fantastic and they really work. And I’m out of body wash…

Fresh Rose Face Mask

I saw this once at Sephora and fell in love, but it’s $55 USD, which is incredibly steep for a face mask. It’s a really amazing gel texture that has little bits of rose in it and smells heavenly. I don’t really know what it does, but it just looks awesome!

That’s all for this week’s Lust List!

I hope you found something to lust after!

Get A Gorgeous Glow with Rouge Bunny Rouge!

If you’re unfamiliar, Rouge Bunny Rouge is a cult cosmetic brand that seeks to embody Victorian fantasy and chic aesthetics. They carry a diverse range of products including blushes, tinted moisturizers, powders, eye shadows and liners, lipsticks and more!

As luck would have it, I was recently lucky enough to be sent some amazing Rouge Bunny Rouge samples from the very lovely ladies over at BeautyHabit.com and I was able to test out a few different items. Here are a few of my favorites from the lot!

Bronzing Glow Liquid; $78 USD

This liquid bronzer was one of my favorites from Rouge Bunny Rouge. It has a nice subtle sheen to it that adds a nice bronze-golden shimmer to your overall makeup look, but they do it in such a way that it doesn’t look unnaturally orange or glittery like many other bronzers.

I really enjoyed wearing this one quite a bit! Although I am really pale, this bronzing liquid still gave me a really nice and natural looking glow. I’m not a fan of glitter, but the shimmer in this is really nice. It doesn’t accentuate flaws or wrinkles and instead draws attention to the high points on your face. I put a big on the tops of my cheek bones, my brow bones right under my brows and on the inner corners of my eyes to give off a very subtle lit-from-within look, but this can be applied anywhere from your face to your neck, decollete, and the rest of your body including arms and legs. I highly recommend this one. Although it is pretty expensive, it looks really natural over liquid makeup or by itself and includes hyaluronic acid in the formula so it’s hydrating and didn’t break me out at all. A word of caution though, I tried once to wear it over powder foundation with not too pleasant results. It ended up making my foundation rub off in places and look cakey in others so stick with liquid foundation or no makeup when using this for the best results.

You can find this bronzing liquid on BeautyHabit – here!

Cheeks in Bloom Blush Wand in Titian; $34

I also received a small sample of this blush wand and was a bit disappointed. Not in the actual product, but the sample itself was so small it was really hard to try this sample and see the full effects of it.

All I can say is the color is super creamy and really pretty for any skin tone, include pale to darker, more tan skin, but that’s about it. The sample ran out before I could really evaluate it much, unfortunately, but it is pretty averagely priced for a blush wand and may be worth a try if you prefer a more creamy to matte look as opposed to the many shimmer cheek products on the market.

Tinted Moisturizer in Adansonia; $52

I actually got a full size of this tinted moisturizer so I was able to test this one out and experiment with it a bit more than the others.

Although the packaging is smaller than I thought it would be, I really love this as a tinted moisturizer and the slim packaging design fit really well into my makeup bag.

This tinted moisturizer has way more coverage than most tinted moisturizers that I have tried and looks really smooth going on.

It works really well with the bronzing liquid to nice effect and has a decent coverage for days I don’t feel like wearing full coverage makeup.

I actually think you could layer it to give up to medium coverage, to be honest, because it is very pigmented so even though it seems like you’re getting very little, a little does seem to go a long way.

The thin design is amazing for travel and I was able to pack it away in my weekend bag this past week really easily.

I highly recommend this tinted moisturizer to anyone who wants something light that still has pretty decent coverage as opposed to the many watered down versions that seem to be flooding the beauty market this summer.

Lastly, I was also able to try out their Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Showers. This item has been raved and raved about, but I just can’t get into it. It works okay as a highlighter for the evening, but I might like it’s luminescent qualities better in the winter. Right now, in the midst of summer heat, it just makes me look like a super pale glowing Edward and I’m not really into the whole glittery vampire thing. I think I might like this effect more in the winter, but as it stands, in my honest opinion, it’s not a good product for Summer.

All in all, I really love Rouge Bunny Rouge cosmetics!

They are so aesthetically beautiful, but they also work really well for the most part!

Not only that, but the packaging is very practical for traveling and fits easily into makeup pouches when you’re on the go.

These products, with the exception of the highlighting liquid, all work really well for Summer beauty looks, especially if you’re trying to go for subtle golden glow looks without having to stick your face in a tub full of glitter.

Omorovicza’s Samples Mini Reviews

If you’ve been reading along on Storybook Apothecary, you know that some of my first posts were about Omorovicza, particularly the amazing Cleansing Balm.

See the review for that – here!

They have such a beautiful line of products and I was lucky enough to be sent some samples from them recently – 2 each of the Complexion Enhancer SPF15, Illuminating Moisturizer, and the Deep Cleansing Mask.

If you’re unfamiliar with Omorovicza, they are a high end luxury skincare brand from Hungary that utilizes natural ingredients such as Rose, Apple Pectin, and their Trademarked Mineral Technology.

Here’s What I Received:

I really wasn’t able to use any of these for a prolonged period of time. I was able to use the  Deep Cleansing Mask four times, the Illuminating Moisturizer for about one week and the Complexion Enhancer SPF 15 for about one week as well.

Complexion Enhancer SPF15

This product is raved about by so many beauty editors and bloggers alike and is the winner of beauty awards around.

The product’s consistency is very light and serum-like.

The coverage is super light and airy, just like a tinted moisturizer; it goes on smoothly, but offers little to no coverage for anyone who has spots, breakouts or dark circles so be sure to use a separate concealer with this if you have any concerns with that.

My experiences with this are that it offers really no coverage at all. I really like the consistency of this complexion enhancer a lot, it doesn’t clog pores, and and the pigment is just brightening enough to give a subtle glow to medium skin tones.

This is definitely not for those who are super pale or fair. In fact, if I hadn’t gotten any sun recently, I wouldn’t be able to use it as I’m normally quite pale, but anything in the medium beige range to darker tones can wear this comfortably as a tinted moisturizer and the overall finish and effect is quite nice.

Illuminating Moisturizer

This is the one product out of the samples that just fell flat for me. I really like the consistency of this and it smells quite pleasant, but the overall effects seemed muted on me. It may be because I just didn’t have more time to use this and a week may not be long enough to see the full effects of this, but either way, I just wasn’t impressed by this.

I think that drier skin types may benefit more from this than those with oily to combination types.

That being said, it does hydrate the skin well, it didn’t cause any adverse reactions and for that, I feel it’s a good moisturizer.

Is it worth the $150 price tag?

Not to me, but it may be to someone.

Deep Cleansing Mask

This was the star of the samples for me!

I can certainly see why other beauty bloggers rave about this mask.

It does an incredible job of unclogging pores and brings out any and all dirt and debris that is sitting underneath the skin.

That being said, the next day, your skin may look pretty horrific, but after a day or so, your skin will look clearer and brighter.

I absolutely loved this cleansing mask and would be the $113 price tag to get a full size of it!

Definitely recommend this one!

Have you ever tried Omorovicza Skincare?

Complexion Enhancers : Should Storybook Apothecary Offer Them?

So, I have a new obsession with the Complexion Enhancers from Omorovicza.

I have not yet tried them as I really cannot afford to drop $135 on any beauty product, let alone this one, but the idea of a complexion enhancer has really stuck with me ever since I read A Model Recommends awesome article on Omorovicza’s Complexion Perfector BB SPF 20.

After checking out the Omorovicza website and their products and then realizing that I would have to severely charge my credit card in order to be able to afford these products, I got to thinking.

Maybe I could make my own complexion enhancer with my own fairy tale spin and with natural and organic ingredients.

After all, most of these BB creams, complexion enhancers and treatment foundations have the same aim here.

So, my goal would be to offer a great textured cosmetic product with light coverage, brightening agents, sunscreen, anti – aging properties, and a luxurious feel to the product that is still eco friendly, and much more natural and organic than other brands across the board.

Because this is what I love when I look for beauty products: a product that looks nice, works great and improves my skin in the long run without a ridiculously high price tag.

I would really love to try Omorovicza and I bet there are a lot of other people out there who would too, but like me , they just can’t afford it.

So, my goal would be to offer the same luxury and beautiful glowing finish for less than half the price of these high end luxury brands, and with even more nutritional botanical benefits for your skin.

If I decided to go ahead with this and offer these, I would want to offer 2 different so-called “complexion enhancers”:

A Brightening Formula to Lend a Natural Glow

A Matte Formula For those with Oily skin or who prefer a matte finish.

So what do you guys think?

Is this something you would be interested in or not really?

Your Feedback is much appreciated !
