Happy Blogger Link Love Friday!

I hope you’ve all had a lovely and productive week and onto an even better weekend with  ( hopefully ) lots of sleep. I am exhausted. Last weekend, I spent most of my time helping my boyfriend film a short for a festival and I got to be both the camera operator and a female lead which was all done through V.O. I had tons of fun and we got some amazing shots, but it was tiring and I was left feeling like my weekend never happened at all, despite how much fun I had , so I’m looking forward to getting some solid sleep time in this weekend and possibly filming my own short as well, if time permits, and then I can show you all! Do let me know if you’d like to see any of that and I’ll happily showcase it here once it’s done.

… Onto the posts I’ve loved this week!

Are Bloggers Being Exploited? - These Stylish Streets

Are Bloggers Being Exploited? – These Stylish Streets

I really enjoyed this article from These Stylish Streets discussing the topic of blogger exploitation for free products. It’s a fascinating topic to me and she brought up some really fantastic points about the whole issue that is very relevant for any blogger, not just fashion and style bloggers. If you’re a blogger, definitely check it out and, if not, you may enjoy a look into blogging issues as well!

Lush Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb Review – Seek My Scribbles

I really loved this review on the Lush Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb from Seek My Scribbles! I love all Lush products so when I see a review or post on them, I just flock there. Everything is so beautiful and smells amazing and -sigh- it’s been WAY TOO LONG since I’ve graced their shops! Anyway, her review is lovely and thorough and I especially love the photos of her pink bath water – definitely picking up this bath bomb soon!

How I Style My Sweater – My Lady Boudoir

I absolutely love this post from My Lady Boudoir on how she styles her new sweater! She’s so adorable and the styling is brilliantly simple, yet chic. I’m always super inspired by fashion and style bloggers and this is an awesome blog if you’re in need of inspiration!

I absolutely love Sweet Jelly Bean! Not only is she one of my closest friends in the blogosphere – she’s also a brilliant blogger. 31 day nail challenge image

31 Day Nail Challenge – Megan Box Nails

I found this amazing nail blog, Megan Box Nails, awhile ago when Megan and I traded buttons and I’m so glad because she inspires me when I’m feeling especially nail inferior. Her designs are really fun, creative and well, amazing. She knows what she’s doing with lacquer ladies! If you’re a nail design fan, definitely check her out.

Cucumber Sparkling Water – Undressed Skeleton

You may already know about the incredible Undressed Skeleton tumblr blog, but if not, definitely check it out! Especially helpful if you’re into healthy eating, her blog is filled with healthy, low calorie, and simple recipes for those seeking a healthy lifestyle with food. She’s super creative in her ideas and I love looking through her recipe index for inspiration and ideas for meals and snacks.

PB&J Smoothie_logo

PB&J Smoothie – Keep Your Diet Real

I love smoothies and this one from Keep Your Diet Real looks amazing! Growing up, I was pretty obsessed with PB & J (Peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, if you’re not in the know 😉 ), so much so that my mom claims I ate them every day for lunch for a few years, but that’s all hearsay. Anyway, this recipe looks fun and a bit different from many conventional smoothie recipes so I thought it’d be a fun one to try out. This blog has tons of great healthy food recipes for those who are keeping their diet ‘real’.

Shea Moisture NEW Olive & Green Tea Body Butter

Burt's Bees Favorites Skincare Set

Burt’s Bees Favorites Skincare Set – Target

I know a lot of people often think that you can only get natural and organic beauty products if you pay a lot of money, that they aren’t convenient and that you can only get them at specialty type stores, but the truth is that it can be super affordable and simple to get a hold of great products, even at your local drugstore. I have tons of favorite products that I love from various natural and organic drugstore brands so I thought it would be fun to share my favorite brands that you can easily get ( at least in USA, not sure about other countries sorry!) at your local drugstore.

1. Burt’s Bees. I love Burt’s Bees! They have tons of great skincare and body care products, but my favorite are their lip tints. They have really natural tints that are very wearable for every day and super nourishing on lips. I love them so much and they’re super affordable. You can get them at almost any pharmacy or drugstore like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid or Target.

Pacifica® Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette

Pacifica® Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette – Target

2. Pacifica. If you’re familiar with Pacifica, you might have seen their products at Sephora, but I was SO excited to see they are now being stocked at Target! Man, how I love Target and this only makes my love grow stronger. They sell a variety of lovely natural body, fragrance, and even some natural cosmetic products like the above eye shadow palette I’m currently lusting after. The photo doesn’t do it justice though. It looks WAY better than that in store and it’s only $11.99! I think that Pacifica has actually lowered their price point to fit in with what Target customers are willing to pay so WOOT! Oh, and they also carry amazingly nourishing body lotions; I especially love their shimmery body lotions which smell incredible.

Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap - Lavender (16 oz.)

Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap – Target & CVS

3. Dr. Bronners. These are not necessarily my favorite products, but they are really great basics to have on hand and they get the job done in a natural, eco sustainable and fair trade kind of way which I really love. Their products are gentle and smell really lovely, but inoffensive. Also, the value for what you pay is amazing as you can get these huge economical sized bottles for under $20.

Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes - 30ct.

Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes – Target or CVS

4. Yes To… Although they have other lines ( Blueberries, Carrots, etc.), my favorite of the lines is the Yes to Cucumbers line. It just smells really refreshing and calming and their face towelettes are lovely for carrying around in my purse whenever I need freshening up! Their products are super affordable and diverse, but nearly all skincare products. I haven’t done much experimenting with their Carrots/Blueberries products, but the Yes to Cucumbers are all pretty amazing.

Willa Girl Cucumber Face Mask - .33 oz

Willa Girl Cucumber Face Mask – Target

5. Willa Naturals. Although this is technically a beauty brand for girls, I have no shame in admitting that their products are awesome and, why yes, I use them quite faithfully! My favorite of their items is this Cucumber Face Mask which is both refreshing, detoxifying and cleansing. It’s a great simple clay mask to have on hand for weekly pampering or fighting breakouts and the brand is SUPER affordable for teens and adults alike.

Dead Sea Essentials Chamomile Mud Mask - 5.3 oz.

Dead Sea Essentials Chamomile Mud Mask – Target or CVS

6. Dead Sea Essentials. I actually discovered these by winning a mini spa pack at my sister’s baby shower a few months ago and I was really surprised to actually like their body products. Their body lotion and scrub are both really nice, gentle and calming while their hand cream is super nourishing and smells really pleasant without being too overwhelming.

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil - 3.4 oz.

Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil – Target, CVS, Walgreens

7. Weleda. Weleda is a fantastic brand for body products, especially natural body oils, bath oils and hydrating creams. Their bath oils are really calming and their creams are great for calming irritation or helping with severe dryness in skin.

Avalon Vitamin C Rejuvenating Oil-Free Moisturizer - 2.0 oz.

Avalon Vitamin C Rejuvenating Oil-Free Moisturizer – Target, CVS , Walgreens

8. Avalon Organics. Avalon Organics is a lovely skin care line for brightening and simple basic face moisturizers. I really love their Vitamin C range and that’s mostly the products I’ve tried from them, though they do offer other types of products as well and are all affordably priced.

Eco Tools 5-pc. Brush Set

Eco Tools 5-pc. Brush Set – Target, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart

9. ECO Tools. I absolutely love the ECO Tools brand for makeup brushes and shower tools. They offer great quality makeup brushes that last a super long time and are made with sustainable materials at a very decent price point. Plus, they are stocked at tons of places so you can get them virtually anywhere. Plus, their shower gloves and bath sponges are also lovely and very affordable as well.

Physician’s Formula Mood Boosting Powder – Target, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart

10. Physician’s Formula. This is a really lovely cosmetics brand that is offered nearly every pharmacy as well as at Walmart and Target. They are super affordably priced and they offer some fun products like this line of blushers and bronzers that are scented and actually smell really lovely, but are meant to boost your mood. I don’t know if I believe all the mood boosting crap, but it does smell really nice and the designs of these are so cute!

So, those are my favorites; What Are Yours?

Blogger Link Love - StorybookApothecary.com

I’m so happy it’s almost the weekend 🙂

I went to the Host midnight showing ( which was actually shown at 10 PM for some reason…) last night and it was tons of fun!

Highly recommend the book as well, but the film was also really good, though the beginning is like an overload on the awkward voice overs.

Also, tried out this incredible dark chocolate from Lindt – it’s the Sea Salt Caramel one. OMG ! SO GOOD. And, why yes, I did sneak it into the theater in my purse last night at the premiere. Even those who don’t normally like dark chocolate will like this . It’s my new indulgence – highly recommend!!

It’s that time again for this week’s Blogger Link Love Friday so without delay, here are some of my favorite posts from the week!

7 Tips to Make Sure Your Post Actually Gets Red – HeartIFB

If you’re a blogger and you don’t already follow HeartIFB, then GET ON IT RIGHT NOW! They have the most helpful information for bloggers, in my opinion, of most blogs out there on the topic. They focus mostly on tips and tools for fashion bloggers ( IFB = Independent Fashion Bloggers, after all ), but much of their advice could be applied to any blogger across the board. They are amazing and they’re my #1 source for helpful information on blogging.

FACES Ultime Pro Snow White, FACES Hi Shine Flirty Fuschia, FACES Splash Marooned, FACES Phoebe Blue Matte and Sephora Picnic in the Park

Holi Nails – Enamel Online

I really love these super festive nails from Enamel Online – I think they’d be amazing for Easter or just Spring, in general, plus I love the fact that the design is not beyond my ability…as I’m still pretty nail inferior.  She does a lot of amazing nail designs and has loads of posts featuring creative nail art so I highly recommend her if you’re into nail beauty and trends.

11 Good Carbs That Help You Lose Weight 11 Good Carbs That Help You Lose Weight

11 Good Carbs That Help You Lose Weight – Skinny Ms.

Skinny Ms. is such an amazing website for all things health, fitness and weight loss with a strong focus on women. I love that they always feature articles, like this one, that list a variety of ways to get your greens in or otherwise the various benefits of certain foods. The posts are always easy reads, but they almost always feature valuable and helpful information on how to be more fit and healthy.

Beauty Giveaways to Sign Up For – Flawless Beauty

Flawless Beauty by Glory Chen always features a variety of fun posts on Asian beauty products which I love, but she also does really nice posts like this one where she lists a variety of current beauty giveaways she’s signed up for that you can sign up for too. Thanks for sharing the love girl! 😉

Man, today felt ridiculous, what with the “Spring Forward” time change. It really murdered any attempts I made at getting up at 4 AM this week, but at least I still made it to the gym a few times anyway and I’ll go on the weekend as well. My eating was spot on this week, though, so that makes me happy! Tomorrow is my blog birthday – can you believe it?! Anyone have any ideas how that should be celebrated? I’d love to hear your ideas!

Anyway, onto today which is Blogger Link Love Friday! I hope you enjoy all the featured bloggers and discover some new bloggers to love ❤

This post that Mrs. Gaeul did on her grocery shopping experience in Japan was SO COOL to see! I’ve never been to Japan so I find it really interesting what with my being a huge foodie and all. Plus, I think she’s really unique in that she’s a Muslim American woman and I really haven’t seen many women like her in the blogosphere, but I am loving it!

Blogger Link Love - StorybookApothecary.com

Happy Friday!

I’m so happy it’s almost the weekend!

For some reason, this week was so difficult to get through. I don’t know if it’s just me or not, but the week felt like it just dragged on forever. I couldn’t summon the willpower to get up at my usual 4 AM at all this week so I guess my body is in need of down time and just forgot to tell me. Or this is her way of telling me haha. So, instead, I’ve gone a few times less than usual this week in the evenings, but I’ll likely go all weekend to make up for it!

Anyway, back to the post! Today is Blogger Link Love Friday! If you don’t know already ( you probably do 😉 ), every Friday I’ve begun a feature where I do a post on my favorite bloggers’ posts that I’ve seen and loved this past week so I can share the love and pass on the goodness to all of you so I hope you enjoy!

I love the Juicy Satsuma blog! She’s a lovely cruelty free fashion and beauty blogger who always has fun posts on both which are entertaining, helpful, thorough and great to read. I always see cool new products I’d love to try or fun fashions that intrigue me!

Almond Breeze Tropical Sunshine Smoothie Recipe – Baked Bree

For some reason, it’s beginning to seem like it’s mandatory for me to feature some kind of food post in these link love posts. Maybe it’s because I am such a foodie I can’t resist or maybe it just shows the ridiculous amount of fitness and food blogs I follow. Anyway, Baked Bree is up there with the best of them! Her photos are incredible and her recipes are even better! She always features delicious looking food and drink and I am constantly drooling as I trawl through her blog – it’s ridiculous. This smoothie recipe looks SO GOOD! I will be trying this as soon as the weather warms up a bit – maybe sooner.
