I was recently sent a really decadent deluxe sample of the Natural Glow Cleansing Oil by Antonia Burrell from BeautyHabit.com and I am LOVING it!

I have been testing some products from Alpha-H for the past month or so and I’ve been using this cleansing oil in rotation with the Alpha-H Micro Cleanse and Triple Action Cleanser (Check out the full Alpha-H Reviews – Here!) when my skin feels in need of extra nourishment and hydration and it has been a complete godsend.

It really feels so nourishing and hydrating. Basically you pour a nickel sized amount of the oil out onto your palm, massage into the skin without water for around 1 minute and then rinse off. The oil turns a little milky and rinses off leaving the skin very soft and moisturized.

It works really well to moisturize the skin without leaving a residue or making your skin feel oily. It smells incredible and the scent is very relaxing to inhale at the end of a long day.

Infused with cypress, bitter orange, tea tree, lavender and lemon, this cleansing oil works very well for all skin types because it hydrates while calming redness, fending off heinous bacteria and healing acne and other skin issues.

I used it to remove both normal day makeup and even tried it on waterproof mascara with equally great results. I think if you have super oily skin, you could easily use this as an all in one cleanser + moisturiser during the day or at night. It leaves the skin soft, supple and hydrated and I will certainly purchase this soon as I’ve run out of the little sample I was sent. That being said, I had a pretty tiny sample that I managed to stretch out for around a month’s worth of regular use.

I highly recommend this for any skin type, especially those affected by acne and frequent breakouts. The herbs in this help to clear the skin while the natural vegetable oils nourish, heal and hydrate without making your skin feel oily. I really think this can help any and all skin types, including acne prone and sensitive types.

Willa Natural Fresh Face Cucumber Face Mask Mini Review

I have been eyeing Willa Naturals’ products for quite awhile.

If you’re unfamiliar, Willa Naturals was made to help offer a fun line of natural skincare products to girls at affordable prices.

They have a great lines of features in their products that anyone trying to go more natural with their routine will appreciate, whether you’re 15 or 40.

Check Out the Stats:

  • Paraben Free
  • Proplyene Glycol Free
  • Sulfate Free
  • DEA Free and Phthalate Free
  • Not Tested on Animals
  • Made in the USA

As such a big fan of their natural and simple line of products for girls, I jumped at the chance to try samples of their Fresh Face Cucumber Face Mask.

I know their products are mainly marketed to younger girls, but hey, a face mask is a face mask is a face mask and I want to try them all, especially the cucumber ones!

Included in this awesome face mask are ingredients such as Kaolin, Montmorillonite, Witch Hazel, and Cucumber Extract.

It is mainly meant for young teen girls experiencing acne breakouts, unclog pores, and oiliness.

I really love this face mask!

It is SO awesome for detoxing the skin; after I used this mask, my pores looked smaller, more clear and any redness was calm.

It definitely helped clear breakouts for me as well.

One thing to keep in mind is that this mask brings all breakouts and would-be breakouts to the surface of the skin so you may have a day or so where you have a few spots on your face, but after that, your skin will be clear and calm.

I truly love the results this face mask gave me! Even though it is marketed to younger girls, it should be for anyone who has acne prone skin or anyone who needs to combat hormonal breakouts. It works really well and doesn’t dry the skin out at all even though it does help unclog your pores.

Not only that, but this mask is SO affordable!

It only costs $1.75 USD for a small .33 Oz Foil, but I used one of these on 3 different occasions so the value is huge on this.

I highly recommend this mask, whether you’re battling teen skin breakouts, adult acne or hormonal.

It works, it’s super affordable and budget friendly, and the ingredients are pretty great as well.

Check it out – here!

An Incredible All-In-One Beauty Product: Olive Oil Nourishing Treatment by ONE Skincare + Your Chance to Win One!

I honestly don’t know how this product has gone so long without being raved about!

I feel so privileged to have been able to test this amazing oil out as it has hydrated my skin in such a small amount of time ( about a week and a half ) and it has so many endless uses!

Created by one woman in her kitchen searching for the ultimate beauty product, this product includes very simple, easy to pronounce ingredients such as olive oil, sunflower, vitamin E and lavender.

I was sent this product to review and I feel so grateful for it because it literally has helped my skin SO much.

First, I used it as a body oil with great hydrating results including a nice body glow, small dry patches have diminished and this in combination with Max Green Alchemy’s Skin Rescue Cream (See the Review for that – here! ) has saved me from a brutal sunburn that I got last week!

Aside from it’s uses as a sunburn treatment and body oil, it works well as a hair serum, preventing frizziness and moisturizing my super dry ends. I don’t think oilier scalps can handle using it directly on the scalp other than as a mask that is rinsed out after a time, but drier hair types suffering from damage and breakage will certainly benefit from this.

As a skin serum oil, I didn’t really enjoy it much. It was a bit too heavy on my reactive acne prone skin, but I think sensitive, dry, and combination to dry skin types will benefit from this a lot. I think that my skin will benefit from this in the winter time a lot more than summertime, which is in full swing here in Southern California.

That being said, this also worked great as a moisturizing hand and cuticle treatment and soothed my dry heels.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to simplify their beauty routine or desires an all-in-one product that is easy to travel with and has many, many uses.

It is definitely a green organic beauty product that includes easily recognizable ingredients that are effective, yet simple.

At $30 a bottle, this will last you a couple months and is well worth the money if you plan on using it for all that it is capable of – which is a lot by the way!

Fun Sunscreens That Gives A Nice Glow: Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect Sunscreen SPF 20

So I am really pale.

Although I really don’t burn in the sun either, it takes a million and one years for me to tan.

So when summer starts, I look so ghostly that the sunlight (and the moonlight, for that matter) makes me look like I have glowing white skin, and not in a good way in my opinion.

So, when I actually get up the nerve to put on my bathing suit and get out in the sun to get a bit of color, I definitely need something to off set my obvious lack of it!

That’s where this awesome lotion comes in.

It’s not a self gradual tanner or anything because, truth be told, I have never found one of those things that I liked. They always make me look streaky and unnaturally orange.

Anyway, this sunscreen is really awesome because it works well to protect you from the sun’s rays (both UVA and UVB) and it has natural mica minerals included in the formulation to offset my paleness and give me a really nice glimmery glow.

It actually looks really nice when the sun hits my skin so people don’t scream in horror when I walk into my community pool!

Plus, it really smells nice as well.

Although the ingredients in this are definitely not the most natural I have ever seen, I really do like the effects they have on my skin.

I definitely recommend this for pale ladies who haven’t had a chance to get some sun and don’t like to use (or haven’t used) any fake tanners.

This will likely work great to give tanned ladies a nice shimmery glow as well if they want that added effect.

OVERALL RATING: 9/10

If you prefer natural products, but you want to get a similar effect, I recommend using your own preferred sunscreen and then adding natural bronze colored mica to it. You can find natural bronze mica minerals online for a pretty cheap price and it can be easily mixed into any sunscreen or sunblock of your choice for similar effects.

If you can’t get enough of this shimmer effect, Hawaiian Tropic also offers this after sun lotion that has a nice shimmer to it as well.

You can find either of these on drugstore.com – here – or at your local drugstore, Target, or Walmart. They are very affordable at $8-$10 USD.

Juice Beauty Foundation Review

I began using this foundation by Juice Beauty about 6 months ago.

I needed a foundation that wouldn’t break out my very reactive acne prone skin, but would also provide decent coverage, a nice finish and would offer beneficial ingredients in the formula to improve my skin and heal breakouts while I was wearing it.

Application Instructions from Juice Beauty:

Use over Correcting Concealer and under Refining Finishing Powder. Build coverage as needed by using Juice Beauty’s brush applicator to perfect a flawless complexion.

Product Claims :

This Perfecting Foundation is packed with organic ingredients that will leave your complexion looking refreshed and perfected. The combination of organic aloe juice, fruit extracts and minerals provides a cream to powder finish that will wear all day, while giving you a perfect airbrushed look and feel.

My Experiences:

My experiences with this foundation have been somewhat mixed. At first, I really loved this foundation, but after using this for a time, I feel like the formula does not provide the coverage I want it to. Perhaps it thins over time? It seemed to work really great at first, but now it provides no more coverage than a light tinted moisturizer. I think even some tinted moisturizers might out perform this when it comes to coverage.

That being said, it is a really nice skin brightener, it does has a cream to powder finish as they state on Juice Beauty’s website, and I don’t think this will irritate skin or clog pores. I also believe there would be some benefit to using it given it’s organic and natural ingredients within the formula. For me, this is good as a tinted moisturizer and I like the beneficial organic ingredients, but I would prefer something with more coverage.

Who It’s For:  I agree with Juice Beauty. I think anyone could wear this.

Juice Beauty’s Color Care Collection is ideal for all skin types to look and feel beautiful.

Best Uses:

  • Tinted Moisturizer / BB Cream
  • Light Coverage Foundation
  • Conceal Mild Imperfections
  • Skin Brightener

Noted Ingredients:

  • Organic Aloe Juice – Aloe calms redness, irritation and helps protect skin from free radical damage.
  • Brightening Fruit Extracts – Organic Acai and Goji are high in vitamins, especially vitamin C which hence give the foundation a nice glowing finish and offer antioxidant protection. It also helps to brighten imperfections and improve skin condition while you wear it.
  • Organic Jojoba Oil – Jojoba oil helps hydrate skin and gives foundation a dewy, but not oily or shiny finish.

Ingredient List:

aloe barbadensis (organic aloe leaf juice)*, vegetable glycerin, glycine soja (organic soybean lecithin)*, ricinus communis (organic castor seed oil)*, sesamum indicum (organic sesame seed oil)*, simmondsia chinensis (organic jojoba seed oil)*, cera alba (organic beeswax)*, vitis vinifera (organic grape seed oil)*, vaccinium corymbosum (organic blueberry seed oil)*, punica granatum (organic pomegranate seed oil)*, rubus idaeus (organic raspberry seed oil)*, actinidia chinensis (organic kiwi seed oil)*, vaccinium macrocarpon (organic cranberry seed oil)*, fragaria ananassa (organic strawberry seed oil)*, euterpe oleracea (organic acai berry)*, lycium chinense (organic goji berry)*, glyceryl stearate, stearic acid, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla wax), cetyl alcohol, xanthan gum, tocopherol (vitamin E), thymus vulgaris (thyme extract), melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree extract), rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary extract) and citrus sinensis (sweet orange oil) *certified organic by a USDA approved agency

Formulated WithOUT:

  • Parabens
  • Petrolatum
  • Drying Alcohols
  • Mineral Oil
  • Artificial Preservatives, Dyes or Fragrances

Product Pros:

  • Light Cream to Powder Natural Finish
  • Light to Medium Coverage
  • Certified Organic Gentle Ingredients
  • Brightening Fruit Extracts Give Glowing Dewy Look

Product Cons:

  • Coverage May not Be Enough for Some
  • May be Considered Expensive to Some
  • Limited Choice of Skin Color Tint Options (Only 3 Available)

Final Thoughts:

My overall thought on this foundation is that it is just okay for me. I really don’t know what happened. Perhaps, there was too much heat which then thinned the formula over time? I am baffled, but anyway. I still think this could work well for a lot of people and I love the organic certification on this product as well as the host of skin benefits that come with the awesome ingredient list. I want so badly to love this foundation, but alas, I don’t think it’s for me! I recommend this to those who don’t have many flaws to cover up or just want something similar to a tinted moisturizer. It’s very light and does brighten the skin a bit if you’re battling dullness. Although it may seem expensive at $35, it LASTS a long time. A little goes a long way and the handy air pump container ensures you don’t waste any or very little of the product.

OVERALL RATING: 7/10

The Best Face Primer for Acne Prone and Sensitive Skin: Korres Vitamin E Silicone Free Mattifying Face Primer

For the longest time, I never used makeup primers because all the ones I tried would break me out.

I have VERY reactive skin.

My skin breaks out if I look at it the wrong way.

Seriously.

Anyway, so I have tried a LOT of makeup primers with such horrible results.

Sure, they looked great on, but within a day or even a few hours I was combating a bad breakout or at least one or two painful spots. Even the primers that claimed to be anti-acne or infused with some acne treatment formula still made my skin freak out.

Finally, after much facial pain and suffering, lots of lost cash, and 5 unused re-gifted primers later, I found the perfect face primer: Korres Vitamin E Silicone Free Mattifying Face Primer with Pomegranate.

Application Instructions from Korres:

Apply a pearl-size amount to face before applying foundation.

Product Claims :

If your symptoms are visible pores, unwanted shine, and an overall makeup meltdown, then Korres has the remedy for you. This clinically proven, universally nude Pomegranate Mattifying Primer blends to an invisible matte finish while minimizing the appearance of pores, balancing skintone and texture, and preparing skin for smooth makeup application and long-lasting wear. The 94% natural, non-comedogenic formula is water-based so it allows skin to breathe and never clogs pores.

My Experiences:

I have had nothing but good experiences with this primer. I originally bought it from Sephora after the Cover FX Anti Acne Primer broke me out really horribly. What I initially loved about this primer is that it is silicone free so it is much less likely to clog your pores as other makeup primers might. Many makeup primers include silicone because it fills in your pores, but it also blocks them in turn, and can create a lot of skin issues for you if you are sensitive to ingredients as I am.

When I first applied this primer, I was surprised that it has such a nice finish. It really makes your skin look more even toned, vibrant and hydrated. Makeup goes on great over this primer as well and, even though it touts itself as a mattifying primer, it is not drying to the skin in the least. Another thing I love about this primer is that it is made with natural ingredients, some of which include great benefits to your skin while you wear it. I feel like it works much like skincare, but with makeup functionality.

The formula includes pomegranate extract which is rich in vitamins A, C & E so you get antioxidant protection from pollution and other free radicals as well as skin nourishment. It also includes 5% willow bark extract and 5% witch hazel flower water, both of which are known to help with breakouts, irritation and oiliness.

Who It’s For:

In my honest opinion, this primer is for anyone, but those who will benefit the most are those with oily, acne prone, reactive, or sensitive skin types. This primer will NOT break you out or irritate your skin. One of the main reasons why is because it is silicone free, an ingredient often included in primers to “fill” pores (or block them, as I see it!) which can break a LOT of people out. If you have large pores, though, there is good news. According to Korres, you, too, should use this primer if you have enlarged pores!

Best Uses:

I have experimented loads with this primer. I think it works really well as intended as a makeup base primer, but it also works well to seal in your nighttime skincare products, especially as it has beneficial ingredients in the formula and it won’t irritate your skin.

Noted Ingredients:

  • Pomegranate Extract – Rich in vitamins A, C & E. Provides antioxidant benefits and Korres says it will “tighten pores” as well
  • 5% Willow Bark Extract – Balances the skin and treats breakouts
  • Rice Starch – Absorbs excess oil and softens the skin
  • 5% Witch Hazel Flower Hydrosol Water – “Mattifies and tightens the skin without stripping natural oils”

Ingredient List:

Water Dicaprylyl Ether, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hamamelis Virginiana Flower Water, Cetiaryl Alcohol, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Palmitate, Nylon-12. Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Benzyl Alcohol, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Phenoxyethanol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Fragrance, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Cellulose Gum, Lactic Acid, Tocopheral, Sodium Phytate, Maltodextrin, Punica Granatum Extract. May Contain: Iron Oxides, Mica.

Formulated WithOUT:

  • Parabens
  • Sulfates
  • Synthetic Dyes
  • Petrochemicals
  • Phthalates
  • GMOs
  • Triclosan

Product Pros:

  • Silicone Free – Will Not clog pores
  • Ingredients are Beneficial to Skin as well, especially vitamins A, C & E
  • Great Finish Mattifies Skin without being drying
  • Smells like Grapefruit
  • Has a Nice Finish
  • Evens Skin Tone

Product Cons:

  • May be Considered Expensive for Some
  • May Not be Mattifying Enough for Very Oily Types
  • Some May not Like Scent of Product

Final Thoughts:

In summation, I am really glad a primer like this is available. That I know of, it is the only silicone free primer on the market, or at least the only one that advertises as such. I really love that I can still get a nice matte, yet hydrated and even finish from this primer without harmful, pore clogging ingredients. I love that it includes skin beneficial ingredients that will improve my skin in the long term. Although it does cost $33, which may seem like a lot for some, I have had mine for about 6 months and I am barely running out now so, for me, it is  good value for the money.

Where to Find:

You can find the Korres Vitamin E Silicone Free Primer on the Korres website if you are not in the USA or at Sephora (where I bought mine).

OVERALL RATING: 10/10
