I Love ILIA Beauty!

I was super lucky (and extremely happy!) to get a hold of these 2 samples for blog review recently and I am so excited to share them with you!

If you haven’t heard of ILIA Beauty, they are an ethical and sustainable beauty brand with a focus on combining organic ingredients with contemporary fashion. They use 85% certified organic bio-active botanicals in their beauty formulas so their products work to nourish your skin while you wear them.

I received one of their Tinted Lip Conditioners in Blossom Lady and a Multi-stick (Lip, Cheeks, Eyes, etc.) in I Put a Spell On You.

My thoughts on ILIA are they have seriously covered all the bases with their products, at least the two I’ve had the chance to try out. The formulas are extremely smooth and the Multi-Stick has just the right amount of shimmer without being glittery to give off a nice glow, but not exacerbate or give unwanted attention to breakouts or scarring. Also, unlike some multi-stick types, this works well as a cheek tint over face powder without giving your powder a caked over look when applied which I find seriously impressive! As a cream shadow, it looks pigmented, natural and pretty. It definitely requires a primer to avoid near instant creasing, but that’s to be expected with a cream type product in my opinion. As an eye shadow primer, it works great as well. It works nicely on the lips, though not as moisturizing as the lip conditioner, but still quite nice for an all-in-one type product and still beats most others I’ve tried.

The Tinted Lip Conditioner is SO creamy, subtle and lovely. It’s pretty much the exact opposite of your typical lipstick. It seriously offers some much needed moisture to my lips while lending a really natural color. It’s very wearable for day or nighttime and I’ve taken to keeping it in my makeup bag so I can reapply this throughout the day. I love that it’s pretty much a lip balm with color. It looks somewhere between a matte and a cream base and isn’t drying at all like most lipsticks tend to be.

Blossom Lady (Left), I Put a Spell On You (Right)

I highly recommend these two because they work well together, alone, or with other makeup products and they are made with a lot of integrity – sustainable, ethical and 85% certified organic bio-active botanicals in every product they release.

wow those swatches are gorgeous! i love the idea behind these products but i find the price tag way too outrageous for my taste. i never spend more than $6 on a lip product. I guess that’s the cheapness in me coming out lol ok that was totally worded wrong but you get what i mean lol

Haha I totally understand. I think if it’s a color I really like, like coral is my fave atm!, I would spend a little extra, but I definitely understand. I don’t like to spend a lot unless I know that it’s a good product. These lip conditioners are great though so I think I would spend extra on them and the multi-stick is a nice shade, glowy without being glittery is a hard effect to achieve. and it’s organic so that’s important to me. I think the time that things last is a factor for me too. if it won’t last me a few mos. then I won’t spend on it probably.

yeah i’m just too cheap lol there are a lot of mac shades of lipstick that i like but there’s no way i’d spend that much on just a tube of lipstick. so ive taken to looking up drugstore dupes. i think part of it too is that edward and i have bills that deserve our attention more than a tube of lipstick, you know lol but to each their own. if an expensive lipstick makes you happy, go for it 🙂

Haha I understand. I can be super cheap a lot of the time too. I think I’m more cheap with clothes though. I’ll keep the MAC lips in mind for future gifts! I totally understand about bills. Trying to cut back on all my beauty binge shopping. I’ll be applying your craving method lol.
